Is your Family rich or famous? How?: Flan's family is very rich, and famous in its own way in New York City. They are both conniesieurs, and have friends in high places, all around the world. They are constantly away. All in all, her family is very rich, and well-known about the community. They are a nice family, and have many friends in NYC, even though they are not there very often.

Appearance: Flan is a beautiful girl, although she certainly doesn't think of herself as so. In her opinion, she is too thin, too pale, too blonde, too... too everything. But really, in the eyes of everyone else, things just seem to balance out. Flan is indeed thin, but not grossly so. She stands at a good height of 5'6", and has fairly good posture for a teenager her age. Many teenagers tend to slouch, but since she plays the piano and she sings, Flan has always stood up straight. Although she has fair skin, Flan isn't especially pale. In fact, she can get a nice tan in the summer.
Apart from being a bit bushy and hard to take care of, Flan thinks her hair isn't too bad. Her blonde locks are naturally wavy, and she wears them past her shoulders. A lot of the time Flan will just let her hair do her thing, but sometimes she will straighten it or curl it or pull it up in a ponytail out of her face. Some days she feels like doing something special with it and will have her mother help her fix it up. Flan has sparkling, green-blue eyes that seem to change color depending on what color she is wearing. She has full, strawberry-red lips and a pretty smile.
Celeb: Kate Bosworth
Clothing Style: Flan is very classy, especially in the way she dresses. Her favorite brands include Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, and Lily Pulitzer. Never heard of that last one? Not surprising. Flan dresses like a prep, to put it bluntly. She isn't the kind to just throw on some sweats or shorts and go out in public. Flan can do casual, but casual to her is different than casual to other people. To her, casual means wearing a very nice blouse that most teenagers would only wear on special occasions, and possibly some jeans, but the jeans absolutely must be only 7 jeans. She has a variety of different types of shoes, and Flan pretty much wears a different outfit every day, or so it seems.
History: Flan Maria Flood was born on September 1, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. She was born the youngest out of three children. Her older sister, February, is in college at the New York University. Although they are very different, Flan and her sister are very close when they see each other. Flan's eldest brother, Zed, goes to Vassar University, and she doesn't see him as much as she'd like to. The one Flan sees the most out of all of her siblings is probably Patch, two years her senior, even though he goes to a different school than she. All of the Flood siblings seem to be very different, and seeing as they are all seperated, that certainly makes sense.
As a baby, Flan was quite the adventurous one. Her parents had to watch her constantly, trying to keep her from getting lost and breaking things. Back then, Flan certainly was a trouble-maker, quite a nuisance compared to her other siblings. But as she grew up Flan greatly mellowed out, although every once in awhile she can still get into a spot of bother.
From age 4 to 9, Flan and her family lived on a boat, sailing the seas. She loved it out on the ocean, and plans to sail again someday. Flan just loved the freedom of being out on the open sea, and it was nice spending time with her family, although she did get into fights with her siblings quite a lot, of course.
Until junior high, Flan was home-schooled by her parents. Back then, the whole family apart from Zed and February were traveling around, a hobby of her parents. It was pretty much impossible to settle down Flan and Patch into one school, so they home schooled them until finally the Floods settled in NYC. Only for a little while. Now that all of their children are in high school, Mr. and Mrs. Flood are back to traveling again. They never seem to stay in one place, and it is a bit unsettling for Flan, at least, but she talks to them on the phone as often as possible.
School is one place where Flan is determined not to fail. Since she first started public school, she has worked as hard as she possibly could, and has been rewarded for it. She has managed to retain straight A's, even though she is now a Freshman and the workload is getting larger. It is Flan's plan to get accepted into a good college and go onto become a nurse. Or maybe an actress. Or a chef. Something like that. She isn't really sure what she wants to do with her life, only that she wants to be succesful.
Personality: Some people think of Flan as shy, but they obviously don't know her very well. Sure, around people she doesn't know Flan isn't exactly the one to jump up in your face and introduce herself. But she doesn't stutter, either. In fact, Flan seems to be very confident in everything she does. Only a few people know that it is all an act; Flan wants people to think she is confident, even if on the inside she is shaking. Every once in awhile, Flan gets into strange moods where she doesn't really want to be around anyone, and she gets very reclusive. Her parents and friends worry about her when this happens, but Flan usually recovers within a day or two.
When she gets in the mood, Flan can be a blast to hang out with. She is a wild child, and can be the life of the party if she wants to. But this is not very often. Most of the time, Flan is slightly quiet, even when surrounded by her group of friends. She has a good sense of humor, but even Flan can get annoyed by simply having all the people around her. Flan is a bit claustrophobic, so being in large crowds makes her dizzy.
Flan is extremely stubborn. This was always a problem when she was little, but now, to her parents, it is an even bigger problem now that she is a teenager. Once Flan makes up her mind, there is virtually nothing that can change it. Another thing about Flan is that she has a hard time voicing her emotions. Sometimes she just can't take holding it all in anymore and will go cry in her room for hours. Flan only opens up to a few people that she knows she can trust.

A smile lit up Heather's face as she slit open the envelope and saw that the note was from her best friend back in L.A. It was a very long letter, lasting almost three pages in her friend's cramped writing. It took a few minutes for Heather to read, and then she set it on the dashboard. She was sitting in her car outside of the Hard Rock Cafe, one of her favorite places in the world to eat. Outside, rain poured down on her black 2006 Toyota Corolla and on the streets outside. There was probably going to be some flooding going on sometime soon, what with all the rain they'd been having.
Pulling on her coat, Heather prepared to go out into the deluge. She looked around, but couldn't find a hat or anything to keep her head dry. Ah, well. A little rain never hurt anybody, right? Taking a deep breath, Heather opened her car door and hurried up to the door of the Cafe. It was a relief when she stepped inside, and she breathed in the welcoming warmth and smell. All she planned to get was a coffee, but it was always worth it just to be here. Heather remembered eating here with her family back when they did things together.
"I'll have a double-shot French Vanilla Cappucino, please," said Heather, after she had sat down at a two-person table and a waiter had hurried over to serve her. After all, she was quite well known. Heather liked to keep her drinks simple, but it would be oh-so-satisfying. They would probably give her a complimentary pastry, too, like they usually did. And Heather couldn't say no to that. Sure enough, a few moments later her steaming hot coffee had arrived, along with a hot cinnamon roll. Yum.
Heather took a sip of her coffee, but it was extremely hot, so she set it down and took a bite of the cinnamon roll. It was quite good. A few minutes later her coffee was cool enough to drink, and it was simply delicious. A tinkling bell rang somewhere, announcing that somebody else was entering the Cafe. That wasn't unusual; it was a busy place. But Heather didn't look up, not expecting it to be anyone she knew. Just as she was taking a sip of her coffee, she noticed that somebody was coming over to join her.
ooc: gosh, I totally made up most of it... Is there anything that I really need to change?
